Eric William Kogelschatz

Curiosity and a passion for learning has fostered a perspective on business and marketing rooted in creativity and strategy for Eric Kogelschatz, and a belief that marketing is a true balance of art and science. A veteran of firms such as Ogilvy & Mather and Modernista in Detroit and Boston respectively, Eric has worked for clients including Ford, Cadillac, Nestle, Cleveland Clinic and Jolly Rancher. Eric is a creative problem solver, that enlightens and illuminates the creative process with insights and strategy, providing the answers to what consumers are thinking. But also answers the difficult question of why, revealing customer motivations and behaviors, and paving the path for opportunities to optimize the customer experience.

In 2013, Eric and Hallie Kogelschatz founded shark&minnow, a strategy and design consultancy that makes the complex simple. Core offerings include research and insights, strategic planning, design and marketing communications. The firm’s past and current customers include B2B and B2C clients in sectors from the arts to education and insurance to transportation. Clients are headquartered across the United States from New York and Washington, D.C. to Chicago and Nashville to San Francisco and Oakland.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Master of Arts in Advertising with an emphasis in qualitative and quantitative research from Michigan State University.

Eric and his wife, Hallie Bram Kogelschatz, are the proud parents of the Max and Noa. The quartet lives in Northeast Ohio – but finds themselves exploring everything that the Midwest and world have to offer.
