Hacking Gaming and Technology for the Arts
Besides Atari, Commodore 64 and Nintendo, I’ve never really liked video games. But when I first moved to Cleveland, I worked at Marcus Thomas on the Nestle account and had the opportunity to work with Major League Gaming on a sponsorship partnership. After a few events, I fell in love with the culture of gaming. I also fell in love with the technology. Microsoft Kinect and Sony Move were still new, but I could see the potential for natural user interfaces (NUI) or gestural user interfaces. Thanks to Microsoft, hackers everywhere are dissecting their Kinects to leverage the technology in new environments. Even better is the fact that they are focusing their efforts on infusing this technology into the arts.
